We ship perishable beef products to the lower 48 states only. If you’d like non-perishable items (jerky/snack sticks) shipped to Alaska or Hawaii, please contact us via email or phone to place those orders.
We ship directly from Bow Creek Farm on Mondays and Tuesdays to ensure delivery of your beef by Friday. Wednesday shipment may be available based on your geographic location. Packages will arrive within 1-3 business days from the time of shipment. There may be exceptions for weather & holidays. Orders placed Monday afternoon-Sunday may be shipped the following Monday to some geographical locations.
All frozen product is shipped via UPS. Beef is shipped frozen in specially designed insulated coolers with Ice Blankets. These coolers & Ice Blankets have been designed to keep perishable products cold in varying ambient temperatures for up to 4 days.
Your box/cooler will be packed with a specific amount of Ice Blanket which is based on your geographical location, time in transit and temperatures during travel. All orders are packed to sustain a frozen state (of both meat & Ice Blankets) up to the UPS Guaranteed Delivery Date. Your beef may arrive frozen or partially thawed but should be cool to the touch (40 degrees F or less). Our goal is to keep your order frozen but geographical location, weather conditions and shipping delays can cause product to become partially thawed but should remain below 40 degrees F.
Upon delivery, please open your box and inspect the box and beef for damage. Your beef may still be frozen or partially thawed but should be cool to the touch. Please promptly place your beef in a refrigerator (if you would like to consume your beef in the next 7 days) or in a freezer for longer storage. All cuts are vacuum packed to ensure our beef will remain in perfect condition even after long-term freezer storage. But we bet it’s not going to last that long! Even if your beef arrives thawed and cool to the touch, you may refreeze beef that’s been vacuum sealed. If you do not feel your product is cool to the touch upon prompt inspection after delivery, please call (717)885-9700 or email us at email@example.com within 24 hours of delivery.
We offer UPS Ground shipping as standard to most locations (1-3 Day delivery). Please choose UPS Ground service (if available to your address) as it is the fastest & most economical delivery option to most Eastern States. Some locations require UPS 3-Day Select so that beef reaches the recipient within 4 days (and by Friday). UPS 2-Day Air & UPS Next Day Air are also available. Dry goods (jerky & beef sticks) may be shipped via USPS. UPS Shipping rates are determined by your geographical location and transit time. All orders are shipped with “No Signature Required”.
The customer is responsible to provide accurate delivery address information and ensure that the recipient will be available to receive delivery. You will receive an email from UPS with a tracking number and UPS Guaranteed Delivery Date. Please monitor this tracking information to ensure recipient will be available to promptly receive and move the beef to cold storage upon delivery.
Due to the perishable nature of beef, we cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes. A street address, email, and phone number are required for all orders. If shipping to a business, please ensure the recipient will be available (if during non-business hours) to receive delivery.
Bow Creek Farm is not responsible for damage to product from customer incorrect delivery address errors; UPS Shipping Delays; or shipments neglected after delivery and not moved to cold storage in a timely manner. Please be sure to double check all addresses & that recipient will be available to receive the order on the UPS Guaranteed Delivery Date. If your delivery is damaged in any way, please promptly (within 24 hours) provide a description of the damage and supply a photo of your order in the original packaging as it was received to document any damage. The boxes and coolers we use have been designed to meet UPS shipping specifications.
You may reuse the Ice Blankets or simply dispose of them. Ice Blankets are FDA approved for contact with food and are designed to hold water and refrigerant chemicals even after thaw. But do not consume or allow food to come in contact with the contents of the Ice Blankets if they should rupture or leak. To reuse Ice Blankets, simply refreeze but do not allow the mesh sides of two blankets to come in contact with each other. They will become stuck together and rip when you attempt to separate them. The lower the temperature of your freezer, the longer the blankets will stay frozen.
Please handle your meat safely. Never allow meat to thaw on a counter at room temperature. Thawing in a refrigerator is recommended but if you are in a hurry, use the cold water thawing method. Beef left in its original vacuum sealed packaging to thaw in a refrigerator may be refrozen.
If you want to cook your beef on a particular date, have your beef ordered and delivered a few days early to allow time for thawing.
All whole muscle beef should be cooked to an internal temperature of 140 degree F. Ground beef & burger patties should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.
Tracking information will be emailed to you. This will prepare you to continue the cold chain immediately after the package arrives. We will not be held responsible or issue refunds for shipments that are spoiled due to packages that are left unattended after delivery to your location. We are not responsible for shipping delays by UPS and will not issue refunds for products that are spoiled due to shipping delays by UPS.
